I've got a friend, her parents own an H2. She brings it down every once in a while. I enjoy driving that thing...not the best gas mileage, but nice overall. It never sees offroad, but I am sold on letting it see some off-roading one of these days, maybe this summer. They're nice, but the H2's are almost more of a status symbol rather than a off-road beast.

Ya the H2s get a bad rap because most folks dont offroad them, but they are fun offroad.
My friend with the H1 has a blast with his,I almost bought it last year but I neaded a truck that was more everyday practical.

You see the most tricked out off road H2s in Moab, Utah.

The H1 was cool when you could buy an almost military vehicle. They've got so many bells and whistles now, they took all the fun out of it. It's hard to think about hammering the crap out of anything with leather, 8 way power seats, power everything, carpeted floors, and lord knows what else. Besides, it'd probably make the CD player skip, and you really need to have it to drive you to work at IBM first thing on monday anyhow because you can't just show up in a one ton duallie like everybody else there and surely you'll need a rental because it'll take at least a couple days at the detail shop to get all the mud off it, then a couple more days at the body shop getting the scratches filled and buffed. Insurance covers that stuff, right? Oh, wait, am I ranting? The H2 seems like a lot of money for a rebadged Suburban. I can't find a point in that except that it almost sort of looks like an H1 to somebody who isn't familiar with them, and all your friends are bound to see you because you'll be spending loads of time beside the road in plain sight while you're filling the gas tank, and maybe they'll think you have an H1 status symbol. Oops, there I go again. I can't say I've cracked open an H3 to know about them, but I'm betting they're more more or less a H2 alternative status symbol wannabe. Maybe when I get my hands on one of those I can rant about that too.

I t is not very accurate to call the H2 a rebadged sub, yes it does share a frame but that is where the resemblance ends it is also equiped with 3/4 ton diffs front and rear and the sheet metal is alot thicker than a tahoe or sub. I understand most peoples problems with hummers and the people that drive them but they are a great vehicle and I can say that from haveing seat time in all of them H1 H2 H3 and a few years in the army riding in a humvee.
