my brother and my dad and I have decided to make my brothers ride custom. we are going to put a irs system on the foreman. could anyone who has done this give us a few helpful tips on how to make this work. we stare at my polaris suspension for hours to get a general idea but a little help could make a big difference. thanks for the help,
andrew

Hummm.....look at Greg's (G-Mac) Foreman with custom IRS. He also has a Rancher with IRS too. I have no clue how to do it though. All I know is he said he would do it for like $2000 though and it is a long process. Let me know if you hear anything or start it.

2000 is alot to have someone do it. i could use some stuff from the polaris before i put a lift on it.

Well the biggest cost and why its $2000 is the new custom axles that are needed. I have talked with Greg indetail about making mine. The cost is too much for me when you can just buy a bigger motor and IRS on the Rincon. On the other hand the looks and questions you would get would be worth it to also.

I believe (someone correct me if I am wrong) that the IRS Foreman referred to above doesn't actually have a suspension, but rather uses fixed control arms so that the CV joints are at their maximum angle (maximim clearance) at all times. I would suspect that you could find a wreck with a working front suspension, and front frame section from a similarly sized bike, and still have a comperable investment when compared to custom axle shafts, but the premade one already has the angles, lengths, and CV angles all worked out for you. Your mission would be to graft the front frame into the rear of your project quad, and you would have to make custom mounts so that you could then invert the differential within that. And a new fill and drain plug in the differential case. .02

weve started working on it but its a slow process right now because of hunting season. and the babes, and then i have my four wheelers to take care of before my brothers. anyone kill a deer yet. ive killed 2 but they arent worth anything. both of them seemed tall so i figured they would be a big doe but one turned to be a baby buch then the other was a 76 pound doe

Well if you invert it doesnt that mean that it would turn forward?

That's the trick, is installing them upside down.

Well couldnt you buy the rear end off of a rincon and mount it up? but i dont know how expensive that would be either but it would be worth looking into if someone wanted to do it. but the thing about that is that the motor is mounted sideways on the ranchers and i am not quite sure how the the rincon's motor and tranny is.
