I wanted to post a review of what I have found so far regarding the mods to my foreman. So, Here goes: Swampwitch tires; Have been excellent all around. The 28's really excell in deep thick mud. I was able to make it over obstacles submerged in the goop that my bro w/ 27" mudlights could not. Both of us have a 1- 1 1/4" lift. He has an '05 rubicon. The biggest and only drawback I noticed about the Swampwitch 28's is substantially increased steering effort. How does the '00 Foreman turn them? I have a K&N, dial a jet, and fmf megamax silencer. HUGE power increase with this set-up. When I want to quiet it down, I install the quiet core insert in the Megamax and run only 4 disks. This produces a very close to stock decibel level. I turn the Dial a jet down to 1 below center. It still turns the SW's with ease but there is a big low end torque loss as well as losing that quick hard pull to top. Tends to go flat but I think the K&N still enhances that already great Honda throttle response. The whole change takes app' 3 minutes. A side note; my bros '05 rubi won't turn the 27's in really thick stuff without going down to low range. I was spinning the 28's in 2'nd gear after upshifting from 1'st. It was raining down in chunks. That was with no quiet core and 13 disks in the Megamax. Basically wide open. Possible the only drawback to the wide open set-up is that it has such tremendous low end snap, that when rock climbing and going over large obstacles, it tends to stand the front end up much easier. It actually made me wish it was a little smoother for that application. Took a little getting used to. Gets a little hairy in steep off camber situations where smoothness is imperative. Lastly, the Warn 424 is a huge plus if you are able to just cruise. Greatly reduces steering effort when you are running large rubber by disengaging the front axle. These are just some observations I have made. I also tried to give a good cross section of different types of terrain I have been on so far and how the machine performs with these mods and changes to them. Chow for now! Steve
