THINKING ABOUT UPGRADING FROM SUPERTRAPP TO HMF
BUT DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE TO GO WITH .
DON'T REALLY WANT TO GO LOUDER
JUST LOOKING FOR MORE POWER
ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR INPUT ?
ALSO IS THERE REALLY A BIG DIFFERENCE LIKE I SEE POSTED EVERY WHERE?
THANKS

I picked the utility HMF, why #1 Its cheaper then all the others I think at like anywhere from $180-$215. #2 Thats what I am going to get when I get my Foreman.

Well, I've seen and been in this situation many times. I just ordered my HMF last wednesday and it should be here by friday. This is how I see it.
The Utility style HMF is a good power increase and IMO is really not that loud on a Foreman. I think it is a nice deep melow sounding pipe.
The Penland Series is the loudest pipe made by HMF. it has a little bit more power increase than hte Utility but it is LOUD. I heard it on a Praire once and almost had to cover my ears. You will most likley upset people and not get into any parks if they have a db level. (Not trying to bash on HMF)
The Quiet Series is probably quieter than the Utility Series but you get 1/2 the horsepower for 1/2 the sound. Plus it is more expensive than the Utility.
The thing about HMF also is they have no discs so not as much maintinance as IDS and I think they have a longer warrenty. If you get it from HMF (or anyplace I think) HMF makes it after you call. Its 3-5 days to make it depending on how busy they are.
Hope this helps Ethan

Just to tell ya. That is the exact thing I ordered. Should get it hopfully tomorrow. I seriosly think with the race core you will be more happier because IMO it is really not loud. I got it to just in case I bring it huntin but on the every day trails, leave the quiet core at home!!!

I just bought a hmf utility and 4 words describe this pipe, very powerful and very LOUD. I have no quiet core. I'll put the big gun on for a decrease in decibels. Love the power though.I have plenty mods on my bike and the hmf opened it up. ;D

Looks like I may have to move the HMF toward the top of the list. Hey Ethan, This last weekend there was a KFX 700 with dual HMFs and it sounded awesome. I mean it was Bad A$$! It made me want to get one. So looks like I may have to look into getting me one (HMF) for christmas or something after I get my new Honda.
