I just got my first scheduled check up on the 26th. Everything was normal but I had water in the rear end. They changed it out and put new oil in there. I parked my truck(with 4-wheeler in it) at my Mom's house and left it there until today(the 28th) It rained on the 27th and the 28th but I thought it would be alright. I went back up there to install the floorboards I bought. I got ready to unload the 4-wheeler, when I noticed something funny. I was putting my ramps into place when I looked up and seen the threads to where you put the oil in the rear end. The nut was in the receiver hitch and didn't fall off on the ride home. I live about 70 miles from the dealer. Do any of you guys think my rear end is ruined? If so, do you think it would be covered under some kind of warranty? Please give some imput.

My thoughts would be ........ if a honda shop had changed the diff oil and left the fill plug out, than they should change it out again at no charge, I would ask them if they know how water got in the rear diff to start with? that should not be. As far as the cap being off for 2 days in the rain setting on a truck, I dont think it would really hurt it, but get it changed out again before ya ride it.

Sorry to here about your problem. Honda should change it with no problem. I also have an 04 that is due for it's first time service, what does it run, money wise? I had a small incident this past week with Honda dealer also. I went and picked up my son a Recon for Christmas and I also grabbed a BigFoot set for me "steel rims". Loaded up went to Louisiana to go deer hunt. The next day took of my stock wheels and low and behold they gave me the wrong "end caps" for the steel wheels, they gave me the ones for the Chrome. So I got on the phone and called every Honda dealer in North La. and no one could help me. So now I have to drive 40 miles out of my way to get the correct parts so hopefully I can put my new wheels on in the next couple of weeks. I guess that is what I get for trying to save a buck........

It was about $90 not counting the floorboards I bought.

I took the four wheeler to the dealer on Friday. They kept on saying they were so sorry for leaving the fill plug off. They drained the old oil and put new oil in. They also put the floor boards on for free.

The dealer I go to is super nice. They definetly stand behind there work no matter how old the four wheeler is. I think I would try to talk to another dealer and tell them the problem and see if they would like your business. You would be suprised how different each dealer is.

Glad to hear that you were taken care of! I'm still waiting for my hubs deer season will be over by the time I get the tires put on, I have had them for what? three weeks and its hard to justify paying for them when they are just taking up space in my garage.

I like the dealer I bought my Rancher at. They were real nice helping me pick the ATV that would fit me, answered all my questions that I had and didnt bug us while we were looking like most dealers do.
JennandJoey, Glad you got your Foreman problem fixed!! You should stay with that dealer! One question is that a Detroit Gearless Locker I see in your sig.?? Where did you buy it from and how much? That is one of the accessories I really want other than a WARN or Ramsey winch.
Thanks!!

No problems with my dealer either, just a delay in ordering. No complaints about how I was treated or anything of that sort. Cant wait for Christmas so I can give my son his new Recon that has been sitting in my carport for two weeks now!!!!

Sorry for the confusion BadForeman, I meant to say DG Baja Skid Plate. The dealer said that if I tried to put on the original floorboards I bought, they would have to drill a hole in my body skid plate. They said the one I have now works perfectly with the body skid plate I have. It's a pretty nice little set up. I picked the Baja Skid Plate because it has the hole for the oil drain plug. Plus the new floorboards have a skid plate underneath them. You can buy them direct at hondapartsworld.com
