The ES on the Rubicon is a must and is awesome from what I have heard. I don't know because I have never seen one in action.

I just bought my 2nd RED 2004 Honda Foreman 450S, for my wife... Just thinking there will be less to go wrong with them? I installed MOOSE Brand floorboards on both of them now and they look really good. Anyone needs a picture let me know..

I'd go with the S......leaves a hand free to hold a cold beer. I've ridden my buddy's Rubicon and I'm not big on the electronic shifting. Even in manual shift mode I still prefer a good 'ol foot shifter. If I had to buy a new bike right now based on the features I like, It would be a toss-up between a Foreman S and the Suzuki Vinson 500 4x4. But being a diehard Honda person, it would probably be the Foreman S. Can't beat the reliability of a Honda.

Never had a prob out of mine except some bud caked up behind the buttons on one occasion.

Personally I think many of these ES horror stories came from only a few actual events of any seriouse screw ups, and got blown all out of proportion. I rode an Rancher ES for quite some time, then traded up for a Foreman S. Really the only reason I went with the S over the ES was because it saved me a nice amount of cash in the price difference. But I kind of wish now that I had splurged and gone for the ES, its just a heck of alot more conveniant. Especially in deep mud holes or water crossings. Because lets be honest-You cant always be wearing knee high rubber boots when you hop on an ATV. When the shifter is half a foot under a thick layer of chunky/stinky "Did something die in here??" Mud, you just dont wanna stick your shoe down in it-Or your bare feet. Or in 20 degree winter weather when you get half way across a 3 foot deep water hole and realize.. "I need to be in a Lower Gear." You just cant help but love it in those situations. Plus once you've gotten use to being spoiled by push of the button shifting you wont ever want to go back. It's true, I did have problems with it on ONE occasion.. When I sank the quad-It went out for about a day until it dried out-My Speedometer-ect. was screwed up for about 3 months. Honestly, I Love the ESP, And I dont see how anyone cant.

I'm with RedSkull on this one. I have as S and love it, but sometimes you gotta admit that ES would be dang nice to have on a foreman. I have ES on my Rancher and like it just fine, but I sure love to ride my foreman more.

As a lot of you know i just purchased a 2004 Red Foreman ES. I've been riding it in feilds, mud pits, and trails. I love the ES im really happy with it. Once you get adjusted to it the ES shifting is really nice. And the floorboards rock! Later, Ethan

I love the S. I also own a wolverine which is also an awesome machine. I can smoke the foreman in the tight twisties and rough sruff at speed w/ the wolvy. But, when it comes to getting down and dirty, or climbing over or through unbelievable things, the "S" is king. The Wolvy has a White Bros pipe,k&n,jet kit,25" Maxis tires. If I was to consider an ES, I'd probably just go to the Rubicon and get the Auto. Best, MM

I know alot of you have voted for the S Foreman. I have an ES and love it. I have sunk it in countless mudholes (over the handlebars) and have not had a single bit of trouble with the shifting. I finally snorkeled it today. Going to test it tomorrow... ;D
