Well, just got back from a weekend in the hills of WVa. Now, mind you, I've got the only foreman in the group that I ride with. Which, by the way, is the only bike that hasn't left us stranded on the trail at one time or another. My foreman is by far the oldest bike in the group. It's top end speed (max approx 41mph) is absolutely wound out running down the road getting from trail to trail. I use my bike hard. I skid logs for firewood, plow a lote of snow, pull various other stuff, and of course play in the mud and hills with it. I've performed regular maintanence, put new progressive shocks, front bearings, left ball joints, break pads and thats been it. This thing has been rock solid and has never, ever let me down.
Seems like every time I go down to the hills. I get an itch to trade the foreman for a rubicon or a rincon. It would be nice to have the smoother ride, higher top end speed, hondamatic transmission, you know the trail riding aspect of atving. However, I have some concerns about these bikes. I'm concerned that they don't have the low range gearing for pulling loads (skiding logs, turning big tires in mud).
Have any of you ridden the rubi or rinny? Tell me what you think about them, the good and bad. How do you think they will match up to the foreman for a "work" machine?
I don't know, I'm very happy with the foreman. I think if these bikes had a locker and a low gear for work, I could be very easily persuaded to make the move. But, I'm pretty sure that as long as that doesn't happen I'll be hangin on to the old green monster.
Thanks for taking the time to help me out with this dilemna.
Blessings,
