I believe this product was developed for removing iron stains from laundry, but obviously it works on other things as well!

Pretty cool - I'll have to check it out.
Can it be sprayed on and then wiped down, or does the part have to "soak" in it for a period of time?
I ask because my engine and exhaust is pretty discolored from water and mud.

It's pretty much a soak-and-sit deal. It's not the quickest stuff on the market, but it works!
I usually just mix it in with water in a 5 gallon bucket, then throw the nuts and bolts and parts or whatever in it and let it sit overnight. In the morning, all nice and shiny again for the most part!
