The reason....the other day I was washing down bike and noticed a scew with a spring on it about 1 inch long sticking out bottom of carb. The Brain Fart...wondered whats this and what does it do so I started messing with it, screwed it in and out The Problem...now the bike has a clattering sound by the exhaust where it connects to the motor when its idling and when you rev it up for a little bit. It quiets down when the motor is revved but comes back when u let off the gas all the wat down till idle. So...what in the world caan i do besides bringing it in to a dealer, can i adjust it till it quiets or is that a precision type adjustment that requires a trip to a dealer and a hurting in my pocketbook???

To read your post, i,m thinkin the screw and the noise are not related, but I have no idea what the noise is? maybe some one else knows.

It sounds like the idle screw on the bottom of the carb? And probably so, since you're saying the idle isn't right now. As for the noise, I don't know. That's a little above my head.

I would agree that you probably found the idle speed screw on the carburetor. 1400 RPM (+/-).
The noise, if you're sure that's where it's coming from, is probably the heat shield on the exhaust pipe. The bolts might well come out, or they might break right off. Usualy putting a washer under the heat shield at just one of those will put enough "tweak" into the heat shield to stop the rattle. If it;s a "tinny" sounding rattle they're often easy to chase down. Run the engine until it runs steady and makes the noise consistantly, and with the handle end of a screwdriver (to avoid burning yourself), just press against anything you can find. When you find what is rattling, the pressure will stop it. Once you know what's rattling you can examine it and see what needs to be done from there. If closer examination doesn't reveal a source, but you're absolutely sure it is coming from directly inside the muffler, then indeed it is, and there really isn't a solution short of a new muffler. The "pressure" thing will NOT quiet a rattle inside the muffler.

its gotta be your baffle.... my baffle has done this before... until i ****ed it up even more... but hey i got more power and it sounds tight... if its rattling then your baffle has come loose... or else your piston rod or your piston itself is banging against the walls or hitting your spark plug...
