I've got a question for those who are more intellegent than I.
Recently, I replaced my old hard Hot hands heated grips and moose thumb warmer with heated grip elements and a new thumbwarmer.
When I wired the thumbwarmer and the heated grips. I attached to ground wires from both grips together with the ground wire from the thumbwarmer and attached them to an existing ground that I knew to be a good ground. Nothing worked (heated).
After about an hour of scratching my head and tracing the wires with a tester I found that the problem was in the ground lead. So I disconnected the thumbwarmer ground from the grip elements and attached it to the existing ground and it work. So, I hooked the grip element ground wires to a bolt in the handlbars and then they work.
Why? A ground should be a ground, right? Help me to understand this one. Thanks.
Blessings,

only thing that i could think of would be if the existing ground that you used when it didnt work wasnt the bare metal. other than that you got me.
