My '96 Foreman 400 has a fuel leak I cannot get fixed. Whenever the ATV is parked overnight, a plate sized spot of fuel drips out of the carb overflow tube. You can shake the ATV and make it drip. I don't know if it drips while riding. I can turn the fuel petcock off and it does not drip.
I have gone through the carb cleaning it four times and replaced the needle and float, and polished the needle seat with a little toothpaste. Nothing helped (or hurt). Anybody got any other ideas? could it be an air leak perhaps around the choke valve?

Does the carb have a drain screw on the bottom? If it does could it be possable it is not sealing off?

It does, but the fuel is not coming out the drain hole, its coming out the overflow tube which sticks up into the bowl, meaning there is too much fuel in the bowl. The needle and float are supposed to shut off the fuel when its the bowl is full.
It seems to me if it was the needle not seating, it would drain the entire fuel tank eventually. But it only leaks a small amount. I try to remember to shut off the fuel valve.

I,m not sure I follow you correctly? is there 2 over flow tubes, I can only think of one, off the bottom of the bowl.

The carb float is not seating. Try adjusting it or replacing the seat and the float.Yes it is doing this while your riding. This is a common problem and shutting off your gas while parked will stop it,but only while the gas is off. You need to fix it before it leaks gas into your oil and damages your engine.Check your oil regularly to make sure gas is not getting into it.
