I'VE JUST INSTALLED A FAN SWITCH AS PER YOUR INSTRUCTIONS AND WHEN I TURN ON THE SWITCH MY OIL TEMP. LIGHT COMES ON. WHY IS THIS SO? ANY INSIGHT OR FIX TO THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE HELPFULL.

Does the fan come on also? Make sure that you are teed into the blue wire from the fan. The fan only has 2 wires and a vent, a green one and a blue one. The blue one is the hot(+).This has nothing to do with the oil temp. light. Check your wiring and get back to us.

YES THE FAN DOES COME ON BUT THE OIL LIGHT ALSO COMES ON. I FOLLOWED THE BLUE WIRE INTO THE MAIN BUNDLE, UNDER THE SEAT, AND TEED INTO THE ONLY SOLID BLUE WIRE IN THE BUNDLE. I ALSO TRACED IT TO A CONNECTION NEAR THE BACK TIRE, ON THE FRAME. MY TOGGLE SWITCH HAS AN LED IN IT , DO U THINK THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT?

I have a sneaky feeling that your putting power straight through the thermostat first and then to the fan. The power needs to go to the fan first. I'd move the power connection closer to the fan to make sure that the power goes straight to the fan with the thermostat paralleled in.This way,either the thermostat or the manual fan switch can kick on the fan. Right now, the thermostat is series in with the power to the fan. That is why your light comes on. I mounted my switch above the fan,but before it breaks off and goes somewhere else. Power also goes to the thermostat so it can run the fan. The lighted switch sounds like a good idea and I believe it has nothing to do with the problem on hand. Move your hot wire and the problem is fixed. Let me know back if this works, but I think you'll be ok.

;D I ALSO HAD THAT FEELING AFTER I THOUGHT ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE. LAST NIGHT I MOVED THE PWR. TO THE WIRE RIGHT ABOVE THE FAN AND THAT DID THE TRICK. I HAD ORIGINALLY CONNECTED IT CLOSER TO THE THERMOSTAT AND MUST HAVE BEEN "TRICKING" IT INTO THINKING THAT THE OIL TEMP WAS ABOVE NORMAL. WELL, THANKS FOR THE HELP AND YOUWERE RIGHT, JUST IN CASE ANYONE ASKS IN THE FUTURE.

I WAS THINKING ABOUT INSTALLING A DYNO JET -JET KIT. HOW MUCH DOES IT HELP WITH LOW END POWER, I'LL BE RIDING IN THICK MUD WITH 4-28" MUDZILLAS. ALSO, I'M MACHANICALLY SKILLED BUT KIND OF INTIMIDATED BY OPENING THE CARB., HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO INSTALL?

Really simple and instructions are complete.It helps tremendously with low end power when accompanied with a pipe and an high performance air filter. Alone it does not do much. A pipe is your best bet if your only going to do one mod at a time.Hondas normally run rich from the factory and a pipe will lean it out perfect in most cases. A pipe really woke my bike up and it made me pursue more mods,hence,jet kit and air filter.
