ouch and OUCH if its what i think it is sounds like your rod is screwed over does it start up and run steady through riding? check the oil i know it sounds stupid but somtimes oil will some how dissapear over night without notice. just check the oil and if it dont have ne fill it lol and see if it still does it if it does then your connection rod to your piston is probley whats making the noise. i wouldnt advise riding it if it continues to make this noise or if it runs funny its just my 2 cents

ooo that makes me shiver. Nice coat of mud on it though ;D That is defenitely something to get looked at. If you can't figure it out, that's one that I wouldn't mind taking to the dealer.

Hopefully that's a muffler baffle and not coming out of your engine. Probably burnt valves or a rod knocking. Sounds bad though.

I think a rod knocking has a deeper sound than that. I'd check the valves first, just pull the valve covers where you adjust the valves and see if a spring collapsed or broke first, then you can take it apart from there if needed. It could be the timing chain slapping something too. It just doesn't sound deep enough for a rod. That would sound more like a hammer on the crankcase.

What did you find was the problem? Mine is making a similar sound. Checked the valve clearances and they were fine.

My noise turned out to be a very loose timing chain. Apparently it needs to be adjusted occasionally. I had at least an inch of gap between the tensioner and the chain. Mine had never been adjusted, 5200 kms on the bike. I'm installing a new chain and cam sprocket.
