my friend installed a start in gear switch on his 350es(2000) and he has to press it approx 3 times before it will start. if he holds it too long his es will not work until he turns the ignition off and back on. he tied into the same line i did, 450s (2004) mine works great. is there anything he can do to fix this, right now its more trouble than just putting it in neu.?

It should work on the first time.Check the ground. It may need cleaning for better contact. It will mess up the computer if it is held too long. You are correct there.I can't think of anything else that can cause this. Double check where you are connected and that you are connected good.Maybe someone else has some mopre info on this.

I tried to do this on my ES......the computer did not get along well with it.
It would start, but I would have to turn the bike off and restart it without the bypass in order to resume shifting gears.
