Speaking of the install, eveything I have read on people having to do it over again, just like Jake have said they soaked pretty much everything in penetrating oil (gear oil) and everything has worked great thus far, some for years. Tips to keep in mind if I ever get one.

BTW, you'll hate to hear it, but I should throw in that the clutches are an extremely precise instrument, so a worn pack will visually be very nearly if not totally indistinguishable from a good pack. You just have to look it over for worn or broken stuff in the V-groove area (springs, pins, etc) and if all is good there, and the axle shafts or splines (axle AND differential) have to be good. If all that stuff is good, then you've diagnosed clutches by the process of elimination.
AND DO NOT soak any DGL parts in penetrating oil. I haven't heard that one, but it doesn't surprise me. Some people are sure that a little 3-in-1 oil is absolutely perfect for anything that needs doing. It isn't. The three uses are written on each and every can, and upon careful examination you'll see that none of the uses include prewetting multi-disk wet clutch assemblies. Use the same hypoid gear oil that you'll be using in the differential, and the additive is not crucial at that point.

'Surprised the you hadnt heard that about the penetrating oil. I guess some people dont know the difference and just assume all oil is the same.
