My buddy has a foreman with a snorkit, hmf pipe and unifilter and he put a jet on it and it shot flames out. I dont wont that, i just wont mine to run great all the time. Or if i could tune it for low end. Please help!!!

I recently Built a Snorkle for my 450s using 1 1/4 in pipe. I noticed that when i rev'd it up it would cut out leading me to believe it needed to be rejetted. After a couple of test rides and listening to the engine i figured out my atv was being starved for air. 1 1/4 wasn't big enough to let it breath, I'm sure some people use 1 1/4 and like it just fine, but if I was going through all the trouble to put this thing on, i wanted some increase in power and without more air you don't get more power. I ended up going to 2" pvc. then all i did was move the needle clip down one notch. My Foreman runs perfect now. Anyway, all this to say you may want to check the clip and mess with it some. your unifilter and HMF will make it different from mine, but if your snorkle is too small your not using either one of those mods to the fullest extent. Hope this helps

Did you run 1 1/4" out of the box into 2" or start with 2" all the way?

Before I jetted mine I went to the dealer and asked ...... at what RPM does the revlimiter come into play, I was told 5900 rpm, I then went to a lawnmower/generator shop and bought a 15 doller digital tack and used 3rd gear as my test gear, at wide open it was reading about 3200 rpm, I thought....boy have I got some room to play, I than ran 2 snorkels, one out of each side of the box using 2........ 3 to 4 inch peices of 1 1/4 and than stepping up to 1 1/2" pvc using fern-co couplings as well, so it was easy to take apart. than came the part that took some time. I started off with a 132 dyno jet and K/N the first thing I noticed was the pre filter that covers the K/N had to go, it really cut back air flow I could watch the tack and see the difference, I jetted and moved the clip on every setting watching and writing down what the rpms were, I ordered and reordered jets several times, finding sweet spots and yet was having troubles in different areas of throttle. after about a month working on it, on and off I ended up with a 146 and 2 washers under the clip, using a white bros pipe with 8 to 10 discs on the end of it, the rpms ended up at 3900 to 4000 with a slight miss at wide open throttle, the plug burns brown in the center and black on the outter edges, its a little rich but at the same time it also runs cooler, and it starts really easy when its cold or hot, I really have no idea how much more power it has but people tell me that have ridden it, they can feel a large difference. One thing I know fer sure, when you change air flow and jets it can take some time to find whats called the sweet spot and thats if you ever can find it.
