Well this is what Unibog sent me and I dont like its gonna work out unfortunatly casue I dont think people want to pay this much for a sticker. But this is what he wrote.
glad to hear you liked my decals...prices on decals vary widely due to factors such as size, quantity, material quality, lifespan, production procdure etc etc.naturally, the more decals you can have made...the cheaper they are. unfortunately, the decals used on atv's have to be made from the toughest materials i can get my hands on....which tends to make them more expensive than a standard indoor/outdoor vinyl. also the production process is very time consuming unless you have your artwork in finished form (.jpg format) and would prefer digital printing on vinyl. this process makes the lifespan somewhat shorter (3-5 yrs) but is very easy to apply and ship because its all contained in one layer, as opposed to the ones pictured on my website. the ones i made for myself are layered vinyl which holds up for 7-10 years and is easy to repair. the downside to that is, its time consuming to make, ship, and apply and must be applied very carefully. the unibog decals you saw are layered vinyl, the camoclad is screen printed vinyl, and the new smoogy throttle boys logs are digitally printed on 5 year high performance vinyl. so our bikes contain a little bit of everything, lol.
to give you a ballpark on pricing:
5" decals in a quantity of 20 would be as follows:
digital thermal printing w/ clear top coat (3-5 yr) approx $7 each
layered vinyl logos (10 yr) will range from $10-$50 each depending on difficulty to produce.
as you can see, digital printing is far more cost effective unless you plan to keep the same bike and logo for at least 7 years. the beauty of printing is its ease of use in almost every facet. and if you damage one, order extras to keep the cost down because chances are, 5 will cost the same as 1. your local sign shop probably has the same capabilities we do, but may be reluctant to dedicate the time to such a project. if you have a good working relationship with local places, take this info to them and see what other recommendations they may have for you. otherwise, feel free to email me at signsintime@earthlink.net and id be more than happy to make any decals you like or just to simply answer any questions you may have. regards, john
